is this any good as a back up battery 36v 250? 6ah any import duty

hi all spotted this on ali express as I understand it 36v 250w 6ah with charger, what I am not too sure about if it has a bms?

the discharge current is low? battery is fairly light at 1.5kg it states free shipping but will I get clobbered for import duty if so how much is it likely to be

thought this might be usefull to carry as a back up battery

A 10S-3P is 30 cells. You're buying $2 cells. I expect the cells will have too much voltage sag. Rated at 6AH, but after 3AH is used up, they will be around 36V and, any demand for high current will shut off your ebike.

I would look for something with better rated GA cells.

Duty/vat will be min £25 plus, if the package isn't labelled correctly and is opened you may never see it again.

These are similar weight (twice the price at least) from Germany but no charger, shouldn't be an issue a you should be able to use an existing 36v one. Both use LG 10a MJ1's rather then use it as a back up pack run it in parallel then both batteries/packs will be less stressed.

No duty or vat to pay.

Finding something with top cells like GA, 30Q or HG2 cells in 3p is highly unlikely at the mo, unless you make up your own or go to some one like Jimmy @insat. Decent cells are about £3 - £4 a pop x 30 cells.
Current;y both HE2 and 25R are good value.

From Nkon for 30 cells.
20a LG HE2 84 Euro's.
20a Sam 25R 88.5 Euro's.
15a Sam 30Q 114 Euro's.
10/12a San Ga 120 Euro's.

nealh I would forgo the alie express 6ah for the enerpack more money but bigger ah and better cells,
having recently bought 17ahdolphin at £245 weight 3.1 kg

looking on the enerpack site noticed a 36v 20ah for about £260 but it only weighs 2.5kg so might have gone that route.

still its live and learn
one thing I noticed is 300 full charge cycles as against 500 or more in dolphin or similar batteries
what do you carry a softpack in ? as dolphins etc are locked to cycle frame

There's this one, depending on your battery connectors though, unless you could resolder you own on.

My soft packs go in a pannier or a top rack bag.
I don't use a back pack in case I have an off, also they make my back sweat.

Be very careful with parallel battery set-ups, before connecting them up they must be at the same voltage, or very close. A large current flow from the higher voltage pack to the lower one can damage cells.
