The BPM2 on Ali in the PSWPower store is at a good price with free shipping. You will find BMS battery will want another £126 shipping for a complete wheel. Have a look at the controllers on PSW and a LCD3 display.

Hello wheeliepete so you'd recommend the 500w controller over the 350w? I'd like to keep my battery healthy and not put too much of a load on it.

Do you have an link to the BPM2 on Ali in the PSWPower store please? I can not find it.

Isn't that the rated power (w) which is 350?

"Rated Power (W) 350
nT(Rpm) 290 ; 205"
Above thev"Rated Power" is
n0 36v 350w/ 312 & 48v 350w/352.

If you go for that one converse with seller about the rpm but don't expect answer that makes sense.

I'll wait till tomorrow and phone my local bike shop to see if they have experience with lacing hub wheels. I wanted to avoid buying one as I though my bike shop wouldn't be able to do it, (I shouldn't assume). Hopefully it will only cost £25-40 quid then that would cover the extra cost of what a whole hub wheel posted would have been. Also the shop might to a better job of lacing I figure. Thank you very much for your time Nealh. You've been grand.

Ignore the watt rating with controllers they mean nothing, instead select the controller amp rating you need to use with your battery without stressing it.

The 17 or 20a kit will be alright as you can reduce the controller amp rating by 25% via the lcd3 screen in the settings using C5 parameter, C5 allows you to adjust max amps down by up to 5amps.

Ok so it's either the KT LCD3B (Black) or the KT LCD3W (White) Just noticed you need to hover over the image for them to state which model they are.

Yes being able to reduce the amps is super =)

Yes.
Once you have hovered don't forget to click it to order the right item.

When you speak to the LBS do make sure they know you are speaking about an electric hub to be laced.

Given the choice of 26,27.5 and 29in wheels should I look for 26" for the touque over the larger sizes for the speed gain? Is that how that works for them?

I'm going to throw another spanner in the works
qs84, but probably have kept quiet .
In #1 you said you would prefer a torque sensor drive ?
BMSB sell a TS bottom bracket kit which inc's TS O6 controller and lcd3, the only downside is they don't sell TSO6 separately if it goes wrong.

Depends on terrain and tyre choice, 29er will freewheel/roll a bit faster. Optimum speed will be the same under power due to the hub winding, acceleration to speed will vary a little.

The 205rpm bpm might be a no load speed, ask them the if it is code 15, if so will have a max assist speed of about 16mph. Alternately the NLS might be about 240rpm giving 205rpm load speed in which case it might be code 12 or 13, 18/20mph.

Yes I would... although at the time I wanted something road legal. If they have something along the lines of 48v 250w or an 36v which could take an 48v battery I'd go for one. I read somewhere that someone asked at the factory to engrave 250w an higher wattage version. Here's the thread; http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/can-you-software-limit-a-bafang-motor-to-250w-to-make-it-road-legal.31668/

and the post is by cyclebuddy.

"The trick is to buy the Bafang motor you'd like, but labelled as being 250 watt.

My own e-bike uses a 350-watt Max-drive, but it was labelled as 250w/14A at the factory by Bafang at the request of the e-bike importer: At the LCD display, you can limit speed to 15.5mph/25kmh - or not limit it, if that's what you choose to do. With the programming cable, you can make the drive do pretty much whatever you want it to do (within the limits of the motor itself)."

I agree with you, I've seen a few on Aliepress, but they need a dedicated controller of which there seems to be limited choice.
