Hi All,

Does anyone on here own a GoPro? I know that you can achieve quality photo shots and video footage from it but is it really worth purchasing one for what it cost?
If you do own one please give your views. Thanks

Funny you should ask that - No, but...

I'll be in the market for a new action camera in a few weeks' time (birthday) & I'm seriously considering the TCL SVC 200.
If you google it, many of the reviews claim it's as good as the Go-pro, having the same innards plus a 1.5" screen:
The deciding factor is, of course, price; it's been reduced to £99 from £129 :)

That is good to know thank you and I shall investigate. I had been using my spy sun glasses for two years and it's about time I park it due to poor battery life.

I purchased one recently so we can video the bikes we are now being sent for review. So far, I've been impressed with it. I particularly like all the various attachments you can get to alter your shots/perspectives. I also like the smartphone app which you can use to control the camera and playback your videos. I would've liked GPS but there are ways to overlay this so all is not lost.

There are other cameras that are probably equally as good and for a lot less money. I'd go and play around with one e.g. Currys/PC World have them on display.

Thanks rsscott, what i'm mainly concerned about is that spending so much money on the GoPro and end up putting it away after a few months or so.
Like you had mentioned, I do like the idea of videoing or taking picture shots from various angles which makes it more adventurous and exciting.

How about using the GoPro during the night have you tried that setting yet ? If applicable what is your overall view ie night recording .
Thanks for telling me about Currys & PC World, i will have a play around and hope that I don't get caught on the security GoPro.:)

I haven't used it at night yet, mainly as I'm using it to record the bikes for review. I might give it a go this weekend though.

I quite like this Go Pro video which I found when I was researching which camera to get :

Just watch the feet. Very pretty feet - obviously not normally subjected to fashionable ankle breakers...
