Not looked at prices yet though, but must be cheaper than purchasing an equivalent looking one.

Put one together to your own spec, here's the starter kit. I'm sure SW will do you a parts list if you ask him nicely , around £6-7K should cover it.

Yes but SW is a bike tart, his prerogative .
He doesn't quibble at spending other peoples money .
He buys costly upgrades and likes the best components whether bike or PC, music or gaming. End of the day they all work cheap or dear, it depends on what you can afford.
A cheap part will work as well as a dear part, it may wear or break before the dear part but for the price of the dear part you could probably buy three or four of the cheap ones. If you repair/maintain your own bike then sourcing cheap parts isn't an issue and are easy to swap out.
