Inner tubes

Getting fed up having to pump my tyres up every few weeks.
None of my car/campervan/boat trailer tyres need this much attention, often going 12 months or so.
Car tyres used to need regular attention, even tubeless.
So, what is the answer for bikes?
I don't want to go tubeless, so my question is,
Do inner tubes vary?

I use Schwalbe tubes they seem to be very good don't have to pump up very often but at this time of the year the temperature can make them go down more

A lot of the time a thorn has had my inner tube and i have to pump them back up again

I've got pre-filled Slime tubes from Halfords fitted, and just need to pop a few psi in them every couple of months.

I second Schwalbe tubes, I go to the pump at the service station about once every 3 months. (Reminder to self: go check tyre pressure when it stops raining...)

Continental Tour Tubes for me, none ebike so I run 1.3" Verdestien "S" Lick tyres, and the tubes seem to hold 90psi for months on end.

Just bought some Continental Sport Contact 1.6" tyres brand new at 97p each, obviously eol being 26"

1.5" is normally as big as I like to go, but at 97p I was willing to compromise!

I have Schwable inner tubes and tyres sealant is a must for my lifestyle because I depend on my bike to get me to appointments so i always makes sure I have sealant

A couple of weeks a go i pulled out a massive thorn out of my schwable marathon tyre lucky i had the sealant their to seal the hole straight away to get me back on the road with no problems
Much better then taken the tyre off and have to fix it on the side of the road

I have personally never really got on with slime a lot of people like it but i cannot be doing with the stuff very messing in my eyes

The valve get clogged up and you are unable to pump the tyre which can be a pain really just going by on passed experiences

Slide tubes in mine re inflate monthly or not at all.
Never any mess or flats as yet

Maybe it's just the Slime sealant, where you administer the liquid yourself, that causes problems with gunking the valve up.

Haven't had any issues with them. A little on the pricey side, but saved me a big walk, so well worth it.

Are you not expected to remove the valve assembly before inserting the gloop. According to the blurb on the side of the slime bottle that is the way to use it. Anyway I chickened out and bought the preslimed tubes.

Of course inner tubes and valves will vary in quality.

Knock my tyres about quite a bit and they stay rock solid for 2-3 months easy.

Slime my own tyres, no problems like you at all being messy.

Try wearing safety glasses when your putting it in. That may help.

Valve cores on ebay are 100 for £6.
If slime does help hold the pressure, I shall go for it.

Schrader is less likely to clog than Presta.

I think the tip is to unscrew the Valve core and fill at the 4/8 o'clock position and like wise re fit core and inflate and deflate in that position to aid reducing valve clogging.
