Indicators!

I'm in two minds on this question.

There are plenty of circumstances in which indicators would be a good idea, they would serve a function and I'd like to have them. Given that there is power on an e-bike, an e-bike may be going faster than a pedal only bike, it may be mixing with traffic more, then there is an argument for having them.

On the other hand (and that is an unfortunate metaphor), an e-bike is supposed to be a pedal bike with electric assist. Putting indicators on is making it more like an electric motorcycle. Thus it gets more likely that an individual e-bike attracts the attention of the police and more likely that e-bikes in general attract the attention of lawmakers.

What we need is a special device that reliably attracts the attention of drivers, but is invisible to anyone in authority.

Could be. If I put a health and safety inspectors helmet on, all I can see is dangerous rocks, mountains and sea.

That'd be a jaywalker then.

Trouble is, they don't indicate either. :(

indicators.

Hi all save the planet ecobikers:) I've recently bought two different sets of rear bicycle indicators from ebay. I've had to add cable on both {six strand wire, tedious}:mad:
For my torq 1 i wasnt that surprised as its a very long bike but on my sons alien lynx{20" folder} the length was still inadequate. If anyones buying indicators check the cable length with the seller or be prepared for some d.i.y and extra expense.{or get wireless indicators}
That said im now happy with the result,arm signal too whenever possible but the slight extra security of an indicator is reassuring and drivers do notice.
