It wasn't just that one post, it was that combined with your earlier, more calculating recommendation, that cwah should strip his bike of any evidence of wrongdoing on his part prior to taking further action against the driver. It is this type of mindset which I find most abhorrent.

I don't believe it was a joke, more a glimpse of the real personality.
Well at least were getting to know one another.

Well be exchanging Xmas cards next!

I really don't like the way some people are thinking here. It's plainly wrong.
A lesser wrong in the pursuit of a greater right is always allowable, in my opinion.
As for your opinions; well, they're water off a duck's back.

And in the opinion of the law. For example you can commit common assault in the course of arresting someone committing a more serious crime, and you will not be charged.

Just a small update on the situation.

We exchanged over email. The driver told me he is willing to repay the rear rack but he does not endorse any responsability on the accident. Apparently I wasn't visible enough.

I told him that weather it was intentional or not, he still managed to run over a standing and non moving cyclist with rear and front light in front of him.

As I don't want to spend all my time on it, I think I'm not going to proceed further...

Sounds sensible to quit whilst you're ahead to me. If he pays for the rack then at least you get something for the trouble you've experienced. Taking it further might not be wise in the circumstances.

I was out and about last night in the area where cwah had his accident. Went to Winter Wonderland, then Bond Street, Picadilly etc and had a great meal in St Christophers Place...I have to say cwah you either have nerves of steel or are completely nuts! :D I would not cycle there its mad. Taxis chasing cyclists literally a foot or two from their rear wheel, busses everywhere, pedestrians crossing 'at will', cyclists running red lights and jumping pavements 'at will'....I couldn't believe the madness. Im surprised there aren't more accidents TBH.

I'm mad lol.

Here's the extend of damage on the rear rack:

Everything seems broken. Not sure if it can be fixed when it's broken like... everywhere!
