The other day I saw a photo of an extra long two wheel cargo bike in Denmark with 8 kids in.

Not dangerous Mike because they have the infrastructure and the cycling culture to make it work.

Entirely safe in their context and I love to see it. Would that we had more of the same and similar in our flatter areas, the kids love it too. It's far less boring than the family's people carrier/SUV/car and healthier for all concerned, mum, the kids and the whole community.

I used to have a conference bike. The gearing is kept low to keep top speed down and get underway.

It's still faster than marshalling 8, 2 year olds that keep stopping to poke animals, pick up leaves and move in different directions.

It's visual presence is as large as a street cleaner and they don't have many accidents despite u turns, driving on the pavement etc.
