i am just about to build a 24v 38ah battery pack for my izip cb26. yes i know that this is exesively large. but then again i am that kind of guy. i am just wishing to enquire how this should be done properly. i have 2 new Sonnenschien gf 12 33 y g2 batteries. i realize that i should put an inline fuse to prevent the wires getting damaged if problems occur. are there any other factors that i need to consider.

The electrical considerations will be the same as with a smaller pack, you have correctly identified that a fuse is required but apart from that the only real difficulty is likely to be mounting such a large and heavy pack and ensuring it's weight doesn't overload the bike.

am hoping to negligate the bike overloading issue by mounting in a avenir mule trailer which i plan to upgrade weight capacity wise next month.

Generally speaking, Molex connectors aren't too happy at the sort of current that most bikes operate at, I suspect. The cheapest and most reliable connectors are 35A Anderson Powerpoles, in my view. They are purpose designed for handling high current at low voltage and are very easy to plug and unplug. They are available from RS Components and similar suppliers. Somewhere on here, in one of the threads on batteries etc, I posted all the RS part numbers you need to buy the bits to make up red and black mating connectors. A hunt through the posts of the past month or so should find it.
