ok, bought and installed the bafang 750w mid drive.

Now the battery is baffling me, it doesn’t fit into the water bottle slots so how on earth do I fit it?

you may need to install a couple of M5 rivnuts to your bike's downtube.

I bought a shark cased battery for mine and had the same issue .Bottle holes to far down.I used a foot of inch wide steel strip .Drilled for a couple of m5 bolts high up for the bracket .An lower down for the bottle fittings.

or on the actual battery bracket itself can`t you drill a couple of holes so it all lines up?
This is probably a good idea if you don't like the idea of drilling into the frame.

Also, there might be a way of getting some straps around the downtube.

I don't reckon those bottle cage mounts are that strong anyway when holding a big battery. I have a bike where they have worked themselves loose on an alloy frame from the weight of just a water bottle.

I do not have a battery like this though so have never tried.
