Its a sad reflection on our current human nature when the majority view is stand and watch.
I think it can be positive rather than sad. It reflects the knowledge people have of how "having a go" all too often makes matters worse.

This wasn't a matter for self-appointed police, we have organisations, methods and equipment to deal with the sort of irresponsibly impatient individual who is the subject of this thread. They are the correct and sensible way to deal with the matter, and someone calmly using technology to film the event can be very helpful in securing the miscreant's identity and eventual conviction.
