Just got back from an afternoon ride to Criccieth Castle...sunny, but I've had warmer rides...took the Wales Coastal Path there and logging trails back. Looking like it'll be a great cycling weekend if this weather holds up, may even throw a disposable BBQ in my rucksack to watch the sun go down with a burger and a cold beer on a remote beach somewhere:cool:

The SES bearing is not stainless and rotted away the same on my Haibike...the bearing is a common size and easy to source in stainless, before you fit it, flip out the rubber seals and fill it with a good quality grease and it'll last alot longer;)

Rode up the hill at the back of our house this afternoon...sheep tracks to 800ft and a rocky descent back home. Not one for the missus, but cracking views and a great place to have a bbq/chilled beer/doobie in the sun when the chaps visit:cool:

Nice one SW...it's a PITA to do but will save you hassle in the long run;)

As a bye-line, I did something similar to the SES back in the days on my 1997 SuperV DH to aid the chainline and had the same problem with the bearings wearing...changed to ss/pre-greased and drastically improved the bearing life
