Hello All,
Interested in how many people on this forum have more than one bike?

I'm sure there are a few I can name that have multiple bikes and I'm sure not all of them are electric assist bikes. After all Cwah's recent venture in finding something suitable has poked me in thinking there is no perfect bike.

So do you own more than one and what purpose do you use it for?

Thank you

I have a Tonaro Enduro. I also have a small campervan and can just about get the bike inside and sleep etc. at the same time. I am considering a small folder.

I've been cheeky and entered three, since that's what I used to have and still would have at least that many if I had the space. In particular I like a throttle-control hub-motor bike for in-traffic biking, but a crank drive quality pedelec for country leisure riding. Add a folder to carry in the back of my car and that's the minimum for satisfaction, though I'd happily add a very light sporting e-bike as well, Cytronex style maybe.

I own 3 bikes. My pedelec, a Dawes Chiliwack Hybrid - which gets used in all weathers and a Dawes Kingpin folder that I keep in the car when working away from home

Four bikes make up my own stable though I'm allowed the use of three others in the household should I wish.

1) Gazelle EasyGlider step-thru

2) Dawes Kalahari tourer

3) 2 X Muddy Fox full-sus mountain bikes

I have toyed with the idea of fitting a hub-motor kit to the Dawes which is a nice, comfortable bike with good geometry. Confusingly, each time I think about it, another new high-end machine appears on the market and I'm tempted in that direction. Just to further muddy the waters, as it were, I really don't need another comfortable ebike as the Gazelle is supreme in that regard. That causes me to consider, as I have from time to time, the Cytronex range even with their older tech batteries. That idea scares me a little as I might find the need then to wear appropriate clothing, ie...Lycra!

Looks like you're going to have to buy one of those new Tonaros

I'm clearly lagging behind with one bike.

I love it with electric, also love it with the kit. Both have enjoyment in different ways.

I'm really starting to look at getting a giant anthem full suspension bike for monkeying about on.

Hang about, I'll go and have a look!

Machines currently in the collection. In no order of preference.

Kalkhoff Sahel Pro Disc 'CHURCHILL'

Synergie Mistral 'PONY'

Tucano Carrera 'AMIGO'

Tonaro BigHit 'THUG'

Mk1 Juicy Sport 'TOOBS'

Wisper 905se circa 2006 'HERMAN'

Alien Lynx folder 'YELLOW PERIL'

Recently released for sale.

Wisper 905se 2008 'VINCENT'

Wheel Eagle 2010 'EMERALD'

Scrapped or nicked.

Rush Trek (nicked) 'VOYAGER'

Unbranded full susser (nicked) 'CHINA-BLUE'

Synergie Bayamo 2005 (scrapped) 'SATAN'

Total bikes owned since early 2007. 12

Soon to be added. Haibike EQ Enduro Trekking.

Two of the bikes have very specific roles.

Synergie Mistral: shopping bike. Near bullet-proof tyres so, no tools, no puncture repair kit, no pump, speedo or quick releases. The Mistral, with it's modest 10 amp demand, is also used to extract the last bit of useable energy from ageing Lithium arrays removed from higher powered machines.

Kalkhoff Sahel is the prefered machine when joining local social bike rides. I find the Panasonic system is better suited to maintaining station with un-powered bikes.

Why so many? Take your pick!

Obsessive Compulsive Hoarder.
Lifelong member of 'THE ANCIENT ORDER OF GOLDEN MAGPIES'
Incurrable optimist.
Uncontrolled addiction.
Age related dementia.
More money than sense.
Onslaught of Agoraphobia on the sight of an empty shed.

Average petrol usage since 2007, 1.04 gallons per week.

I never take fancy holidays abroad, never dine out or go to pubs. Electric bikes is what I do. I ride 'em, fix 'em, polish 'em and show 'em off to advantage at every opportunity. And, remain fit and healthy as a result.

E-bikes rule! all right! :D

Happy E-biking everyone.

What on earth are these miracle tyres? Please don't say Marathon Plus, because I've had three punctures in those!

Specialized Crossroads Armadillos. Kevlar belted, but giving a harsh clattery ride. Very broad hemispherical tread that rides across soft ground like a camel across soft sand. Good tyres, but I found the construction quality variable, I much prefer the Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tours for town and country riding.

had a clear out last year, and go rid of 2 Dahon folders (one left) and a Giant. thet just leaves the one folder, one antique ladies Raleigh. On the electric front I have the DaaHub/specialised and will be getting another crank drive as soon as I identify a suitable unisex one. Problem being, ladies/step through frames tend to be heavier........

Three bikes:

a Kalkhoff Tasman as a hack for for making videos, hauling cameras, shopping, anything for when the bike is simply transport. A workhorse.

A Brompton for bunging in the car on trips to the coast or country to be able to go a bit further and see a bit more and for taking into central London on the train -even in the rush hour when other bikes are banned - for my lectures and courses.

And a Specialized Allez which weighs in at less than 10kg and which is for the sheer joy of being on 2 wheels under your own power.
