How do i decide on a second hand value for my ebike.

I am wanting to sell my Riese Muller Supercharger but can't find any reference to how much I should ask.
It cost 6.5K in November 2018 and has done 900 miles so all it does is take up space.
Any thoughts?

Flecc's used guide is a starting point.

It's the post linked above in #2.

Approx. 35/40% cost of a new bike minus a battery, though like any used item it is worth what ever someone is willing to pay or what you expect to get. But Flecc's guide is a starting point.

Try £3,950 first and prepare to drop £150 after each week until it sells.
If it does not go at £3,000, your best bet is to leave it for sale on commission at a bike shop so more people can see it.

Besides which, selling via a bike shop inspires more buyer confidence, and less delivery / weird folks visiting your house / etc hassle. Well worth the 10% or whatever they charge. Solves your storage space too. Oh, and they are much better at pitching the price right. Only downside is you need a GOOD LBS. (Halfords won't cut it).

An eBay listing will get you the market price, and as long you:
- write the ad clearly and describe the bike accurately
- have copious sharp images
- set a realistic reverse price (or better still have no reserve at all)
- run it for a reasonable time (7 days typically)
- set it to finish when people are at home (Sunday evening, typically - and not on the Bank Holiday!)
- lastly, pop a link to the listing on here & other eBike forums so people easily find it

I sold 7 bikes last year in eBay in a garage clear out. I got good prices for all of them - and two got crazy prices.

I'd say the only two downsides are:
1. A % of the sale is taken by eBay as commission - 10% if I remember correctly
2. You will get requests to post the bike, rather than collect it. You have to decide upfront whether to offer this. I didn't because of the hassle (source a bike box, and courier + add that cost into the P&P calcs).

Thanks for the selling advice but I more interested in assessing value rather than actually selling. I have sold bikes on ebay before but this isn't a typical ebike I don't want to do that.

There are Riese Muller bikes on there from the UK, so I'd still watch the prices there for a few weeks, if you have the time to wait, as another form of guidance. There's one (not) selling at £4750 for example, because of an unrealistic starting price.

That'd good know. I thought I was being realistic with an expectation of less than 50%, as I wouldn't pay more for a used bike but Flecs guide assumes the buyer will have to replace the batteries which at 1000w is a hefty sum.

Going to try a small local dealer first
Will see if I can find these other bikes on sale..
