its scott not bosch as they design the frame and even the motor covers gubbins dont even have a bearing cover when he bought his bike and he was told its not a problem buy scott.

some models come with them and some dont so have exposed bearings in the worst place possible.

Must say d8veh my cover is no snug fit has gaps but take it it is more for over protection to stop the engine getting scratches and the likes

there 8 quid for a new one but its there to cover that bearing and stop the chai scratching the frame from chain slap.

the more waight you can take off the more range you will get them wheels are a bargin at that price and wont be in stock long as you will not get more for ur bucks than them at that price.

for this years ones are a grand a pair ;(
Seriously.. do you get a noticeable difference by fitting lighter wheels on an ebike? The reason I ask is that I spent £750 on a pair for my unpowered bike just to save a few pounds in weight and did it go faster or climb hills easier? I thought so at the time but was that the £750 making me think so?.. now I am not so sure.
Light weight wheels can only decreace a small percentage of the overall weight so I don't think there is any useful gain.. but they do look good.

That's a bit of a design oversight by Bosch. If you look, there's two holes in the side-cover for the electrical wires to come through, and the cover sits nice and tight to the motor, but when you have a dropper-post, the cable has to be squeezed into one of those holes. Unfortunately, there isn't enough room for it, so it holds the cover away from the motor with a rather ugly gap that lets in all the muddy water, which then fills up inside the cover.

Also, if you look at OP's cover, it also looks like it's being held off because the furthest cable back isn't routed properly. It must be trapped between the cover and the motor. the cover should be flush to the motor.
Mine has a gap as well. I keep meaning to take it off and see what's getting inside..

its just not less waight it is also better bearings in the wheels so less rolling resistance as well you just cant compare cheap stock wheels to decent ones.

and they look badd ass too:)

They do look great but think i could shed a few ponds at the gym easier :) plus think that i cary a back pack that must weigh at least 3 kilo with all the bits n bobs

My son has just bought some blingy light weight wheels and on his first ride I found I was easily out free wheeling him on the down hills which was more than just draughting so we stopped to check it out and it was his brake binding ever so slightly. I was surprised it made that much difference.

his ride will be half the waight of ur bike but down hill gravity takes over so more mass will win.

if you changed all the wheels ect to carbon and got as much waight of it as possible then that will be a road bike killer you need bigger rotors tho and a dongle ;)

Here's a guy who's completely messed up his routing by crossing the wire over the dropper cable. Without the dropper cable, the cover will sit flush provided that the front wire is routed downwards from the hole. You can see OP's going forwards - presumably straight over the engine bolt.

The dropper cable does need to be tied back away from the crank spline, but, again, this guy didn't get it quite right:

Think i need to take the case off and have a look whats inside.
Then if i where to fit a dropper post would prob drill another hole in the case.

if you drop the motor there is a gap above to rout the cables up the down tube over the top of the motor.;)

poor design and not thought out right and rushed to market imo.

DSC_0633.JPG

there is a gap as that is where tho power cable goes to the batt as that is were i put the cable through to install the purion display on my bike as it goes over the top of the motor to the motor input for the display.

thus why i done it my self ;)

yep have to take a proper look next weekend
and dwell upon upgrades
the only thing at the back of my mind is that the bike did everything I wanted it to do this weekend.
climbed like a goat mentally fast downhill hitting 40 mph that was with me breaking as not the best surface rock bridal ways.

Put a cable-tie through that square hole to tie back the seat-post cable, then put that one through the front slot and the other two through the back one to get the best fit. Alternatively, dremmel out a third slot.

See what I mean about the mud going in. In winter that could be salt-water.
