Hello

Just joined, in fact, just bought an electric bike! :)

Raleigh were offering 15% off at the caravan show at the NEC last weekend so I succumbed!

Now we need some drier weather for me to try out my Motus GT step-thru hub geared unit, which I picked up this afternoon.

Should be fun I guess!

Enjoy. We have a (2nd hand) 2016 more basic Motus hub step-through which we are really enjoying. It does have a couple of irritations (the hydraulic rim brakes are a pain to adjust, as is the chain tension without a tensioner) but I think they have been resolved on later models.

Thank you.

I have read about the chain tensioner elsewhere and I think my model does now have one.
I think it has disc brakes too, but I haven’t really looked into that closely yet.

Might go for a quiet first ride tomorrow morning when there is less traffic around and storm Jorge has passed by!

Hi Chrissybear, I have a Raleigh Motus GT and love it! I use mine every day for traveling to work and, with the addition of some cheapo panniers from Lidl, can carry out a useful shop (including on one occasion 16 pints of milk and other stuff!).

I hope you have as much fun as I have been having with mine over the last 3,200 miles. If ever you need any advice, this forum is a great place to come.

Hi
I've got a Motus too - long story but I love it - previously have a Powacycle Salisbury (180W motor - but with throttle!) and loved it but decided that a modern bike was a good idea - best idea EVER!!

I keep looking at the weather and wondering when the wind will get low enough so that I can get out again without burning up the whole battery trying to get home!!

I wonder whether or not I could get to Liverpool and back on one charge - while the Aircraft Carrier is still there!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

I haven’t been out biking for a few years. I still have my Marin hybrid, but I had a bad experience one Sunday afternoon on a country lane, when a car of young lads overtook me, leaned out and whipped my back (and bum) with a horse whip, causing me to fall off.

The physical injuries were get over-able but the psychological scars are a little harder to come to terms with.

I’m hoping the new bike will give me my confidence back!
