Hi to all from a Norwegian 2014 BMW Cruise E-bike

Hello fellow ebikers!
I bought a 2014 BMW Cruise E-bike this fall and really am starting to enjoy it.
Having biked a lot when I was a teenager, both summer and winter, it's a thrill to come back to the simplicity and freshness in being a bicyclist again.
Motorcycles is my occupation and hobby, but pedalling myself (almost) brings back my smile and I enjoy nature and the exploration of my local environment again.

Studded tires and a tuning box that can increase speed is also on its way from Germany.
This will be a nice winter!

I bought this tuning box: https://www.badassebikes.com/en/a-106/ .
The tuning unit you have found seems nice but I took the easy route with the external clip on tuning box.
My box will half the km/h in the display, but that's is not important for me. Also the tuning unit is a bit fragile, so I have mounted a rubber shield to prevent myself form kicking it when I lower the side stand.
In addition I have waterproofed the electronics as well as the housing of the unit. Enjoy your new beemer!

Looks great, thanks for the response as well - there is such a paucity of information I have started a Facebook page for this ebike as well as searching for information on sites such as this! Hope the tuning box makes your smile even wider!! Does the side-stand come as standard or did you fit an aftermarket stand?

Being easily removed is appealing, if I was stopped and using it on roads in theory you could be charged with having no registration plate, no insurance, no road tax..... and the list goes on.

The 25 km/h limit did not fit my driving style, so with the tuning box on I usually cruise between 25 and 35 km/h.
The side stand come as standard, but remember that it can be height adjusted. Mine almost made my bike topple over until I found it out.
I like to tinker and modify everything I have so I sprayed some sheep fat onto the electronics and splash proofed the unit just to make sure.

I`m not afraid of being caught with a illegal bike. To me the benefits of using the tuning box outweighs the possible future trouble.
