Help! Hi there, I have an e-bike with a discontinued battery, can I replace it with another of similar spec?

Depnds ! What bike is it, what motor/system does it have. A picture would be best. One of the whole bike and one of the battery connectors.
In theory any battery of the same voltage can be used but, some systems (i.e. Bosch) use data transfer tech which effectively locks you out. If it's not one of these then Jimmy at e-bike batteries should be able to recell the existing case for you.

If the original battery is a generic one with just a two wire connection then yes any suitable battery can be used, it would help though if we knew the bike and battery type so pics please.

Thanks for the info, no proprietary lock out so I will proceed with new battery as I have researched the original battery and it seems that they were rubbish anyway, thanks for the advice, the bike by the way is an b-twin from Decathlon, not a great firm to deal with
