Hi, my name is Diane and I live in the Yorkshire Dales with my partner and two cats. We have had mountain bikes for years but with so many steep hills hereabouts we spent more time pushing them uphill than riding them so mostly left them behind and walked. Well, we're not getting any younger and the Dales aren't getting any less hilly so I've decided to do some research into e-bikes. I really don't know anything about them at all so will spend some time reading the threads on here. Thanks! :)

Welcome Diane
I'm sure help and suggestions will come flooding in.
You will certainly benefit from trying some bikes and forming your own opinion about style and suitability. I hope you get the chance to try ours during the process!

Thanks, Bob, I need to find some suppliers round here (BD24) as there are lots of bike shops but most sell unassisted mountain bikes. My biggest problem is that I'm only 5'-1" which rules out the bigger bikes, but I don't really want a folder - retired, no commuting!

More important is your inside leg measure Diane...
You live in a Lovely part of the world. I often visit Skipton to see a supplier there. We are working on potential stockists in Leeds, but they're not stocked yet. We do have one in Preston, but that would be a trek over the Lakes.
I realise South Manchester is a long haul for you to travel, but should you be able then you'd be welcome to have a decent try on all of our range. I think we could get you on a Classic if your inside leg was around 22", possibly less.
Why is it women aren't usually aware of that measure? I've just asked both wife and daughter and neither know theirs.

;)Perhaps your ladies don't wear trousers? I do, and mine's about 27" (68 cm). We're 20 minutes from Skipton, about an hour from Preston, South Manchester more like an hour and a half. Leeds would be about the same as Preston. We're quite near the Lakes, and go there a lot, not so fond of Preston - but if needs must...

Hi Diane
My wife and I have recently bought electric bikes, one of which is the Juicy Bike folder for the boss. I know you say you do not want a folder, but my wife only being 5' tall found that the folder suits her perfectly and she is very comfortable riding it. Also have to say that it is very powerful for a small bike. Hope that may be of some use to you.
As for inside leg measurements I have no idea and we have been married for 44years

best regards gray

Diane I think it would be well worth the trip if you can make it over to New Mills: SK12 2PY, where you can try all our range. We are open to all on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, or everyday at Buxton, SK17 6AL (another 20mins away).
Hope to see you sometime soon.

Nowhere near you I'm afraid Diane, but I think the eZee Sprint Primo would fit, and it's one of the most powerful. Swapping the sprung seatpost fro a solid one woudl also gain another two inces, though I doubt that would be necessary.
