Greetings
I've got a bike that I love but don't ride enough. Looking to convert so it gets as much work as the electric one. Also looking for a trike to convert for my husband that will work better on tracks than his Trigo. Too many bikes....

Everything is repairable if you know how and can get the bits required. That Trike has its own electrical system, so all our normal knowledge and sources of parts aren't going to help.
Anything like the Di Blasi is not going to be a good long term easily fixable etrike then, for the OP. There must be better options out there.

Thank you for the replies. I'm sorry, I should have specified recumbent trike, don't really mind if it is delta or tadpole, but it would need to be useable on gravel and grass tracks, so I do have a slight preference for tadpole with a 26 inch rear wheel, although delta would enable me to use my trailer for the camping gear. My other half doesn't do camping. I can persuade him to come with me for a ride on his non electric trike when it's coupled to the electric one I ride. He gets tired easily and has to take a break from pedaling, which of course means more of an effort for me, even with the assist.
So I would like to have one that doesn't have to tow sir, on the days when it's too cold or too wet or too sunny or too dry for him. He could then have the trigo with the motor.... and I could go green laneing.
BTW, it doesn't need to fold.

I converted a bike I had and liked riding. If your partner likes his trike, why not convert the trike that your partner has? If you upload details and photos, there's a chance (at the very least) that you might get suggestions on what easily repairable kits you could install.

I'm not suggesting that you buy this, but you could investigate the viability of converting something like:

My partner likes his trike well enough and I suppose I could have him use mine by swapping his fancy pedals, or just motorise his (shimano 5000 would drop straight in) but it's definitely a road trike. I fancy something more off road but need to do it reasonably cheaply.
That fat trike looks like fun, but very few details and unbranded from Sri Lanka. Hmm. I've been bitten once by a bike shaped object I bought in Poland. Not sure I want to risk that amount of money. I'm really looking to find something decent second hand, and add the motor later.

Yes, that unbranded from Sri Lanka does look like fun. I had a quick look at ebay.fr but nearly all the EU recumbent trikes seem to ship from the UK! Might be worth looking regularly on regular search on ebay.fr for a COUCHÉ Trike.

For instance, this ships from Tiverton:

Looks like a decent buy. Collection would be a problem, though. But yes, that is the sort of thing I had in mind.

Yes, I noticed that later. It seems that if you search ebay.fr with the words "Recumbent trike", you get more results, than if you searched for "COUCHÉ Trike". Here are a few to pick through - I haven't looked closely at these listings:

There's usually a way to convert most bikes and trikes. If you post up details of whatever you intend to buy, are interested in buying, or end up buying, someone more knowledgeable about conversions might advise you.

Thank you, that's really useful. I think I'll be doing a hub motor conversion, starting to look seriously when I have scraped together the cash for the trike. Until then I'll be enjoying the forum and learning.
