Hi, I came across this forum whilst googling some models of e-bikes, and was impressed at the amount of knowledge and support on here :)

I've got a motorbike, a racer and a hardtail MTB already, but am now shopping for a new bike.

I've been hearing more and more about e-bikes over the last couple of years, and how people seem to be having a real blast with them, but didn't know that I needed one until I jumped on one at Halfords for a laugh on the weekend, and now I'm addicted!

I was looking at the Crossfire-e at Halfords - it's £1200 atm but has been down to £960, so could be got on the C2W scheme. Then I started looking at alternatives, and the requirements list has spiralled!

My intended use for the bike is cyclepaths, back lanes, bridleways and woodland tracks, and maybe the occasional gentle blue/green run at Brechfa. Work is only 4 miles away, but some scary road sections that are shared with quarry lorries.

Current fave bike on the shopping list is the Haibike Xduro Hardnine 6.0, but as I read and research more, that may well change.

ETA: also liking this one:

which seems good value for £1600 as it includes the 500Wh Bosch CX system.

From reading the reviews on the Halfrauds website, it would seem that every one of the Carrera range of ebikes suffers from the occasional electrical cut out problem.

Hello xena :)

It seems Halfords haven't really addressed the cut out problems, despite having had plenty of time to. A lot of these bikes seem to go back for refunds, which makes it more surprising it hasn't been resolved yet.

Bosch CX on the other hand is held in high regard, with no such cut out problems, so you'd be far better off with the Cube. But try a few different makes before you bite the bullet, as there are some cracking bikes out there.
