Hi everyone

My name is Graham. I am coming up to retirement in the next year (my wife already done) and am thinking about setting up electric bikes for both of us to get out on some of the lovely trails where I live in Derbyshire. (Can,t bear the thought of sitting in watching Jeremy Kyle LOL) I used to do a fair amount of cycling in my young days and am still reasonably fit ,but feel it would be nice to just enjoy the scenery without too much exertion. Don,t really know anything about electric bikes so will be doing a lot of reading and research on this site, and probably asking a lot of questions.

regards Graham

Hi Graham
Best thing about electric bikes and the wonderful trails we have in Derbyshire, and all over the country, is you don't have to use them!

In summer they get far too busy for my taste and I prefer to go up and down the hills and lanes, into the villages and away from the hordes.

You'd be very welcome to have a try on any of our range. We're in Buxton at Eco Republic and now also in New Mills, on the A6. Check our website for more details.

Do ask any questions: there's a wealth of very knowledgeable people on the forums.

Welcome to the forum. There's a huge amount of knowledge & information here. Derbyshire? Lucky lad. Toddle along to Buxton and try Bob Wales' range of Juicy Bikes for a start. There's a good coffee shop just a few doors along ...
Try as many bikes/makes/prices as you can - we're twenty years into retirement and ebikes are an important part of our lives.
Best wishes,
Tom.

Hello Graham,

When you've made your choice of suitable bikes I'm sure you'll be thrilled as my wife and I are with our two.

We live in Surrey and often cycle up around 'Box Hill' which is quite a climb - soon to be the route used for the 'Olympics Cycle Race'. The hill poses no problems and only recently I was following a young lad up said hill and he was obviously working quite hard. He kept glancing around to find me on his coat tails and not struggling!! Our bikes have been fantastic fun and we have used them in Austria - up mountains and around lakes - and nothing seemed unachievable. We love them. Good luck.

thanks for your replies. I think you must be mind readers as it was my intention to ring Eco in Buxton tomorrow with a view to visiting this weekend if open
