Brompton have recently released a puncture repair kit that can be used with their electric and non-electric 16" bikes.

What interests me is the small insert you can put inside a 15mm ring spanner to turn it into a ratchet hex driver.

Any ideas where you might buy that insert separately ?

It seems hardly worth it, when you can get a set of these for £13:

Just buy a normal small rachet,a hex bit set and a 15mm socket. I would just buy a Bacho small rachet set and use it for the house / DIY / bike

I was not looking for alternatives.

Finding small ratchets is easy enough, there are all over eBay and Ali and they are cheap. I already have a couple, including the one in the original Brompton toolkit.

But I like the idea of the ratchet insert for a 15mm spanner and if they were available separately, at reasonable cost, I would get one. But I aint going to pay £75 for a Brompton tool kit to get one.

I didnt quite follow what you were after, whether that was an insert that turns the spanner into a ratchet, or a ratchet or basic spanner that can take an adapter to make it a 1/2" 1/4" 3/8" square drive

So would this be the type of thing you mean

As per the original post;

I have seen the possible alternatives, including the ones you posted, but I am trying to source the part shown in the first post, its been seen in other toolkits as well apparently.

Can you explain why you want one? I'm mystified because it doesn't make sense to me. It's nowhere near as convenient as a small rachet spanner, and is probably going to be more expensive. A 15mm spanner is an unusual size for anything else on an ebike. Do you have something on yours that needs it?

Not exactly the same but i would argue more versatile are the 3x 10mm-1/4", 13mm-3/8", and 19mm-1/2" square drive adaptors, you only need a 1/4" to hex drive socket to be satisfied and be equipped. yes you carry 1x mor 10g? socket, But more importantly the home stash of tools is 2 useful bits BIGGER!!!

I can't find it, closest thing are palm or thumb ratchets, the former I guess you could turn with a big spanner, plumber's adjustable wrench, or molegrips or something.

...talking about unfindable tools...

Its a shame you dont seem to be able to buy that ratchet insert (see first post) seperatly, it would be a useful addition to the toolkits I have on the Bromptons.

I dont normally carry a ratchet driver, a simple angled one like below is OK for out and about use;

On the Bromptons I have, including an electric one, I carry a 15mm wrench for removing wheels in the toolkits, so that little 15mm hex ratchet insert could have been handy.

The lightest complete ratchet driver I have come across is below, cheap too, about £1.50, simple, OK for occasional use;
