Finding my (electric) wheels

HI I am new to the forum having bought an electric bike a couple of months back I have limited knowledge and would appreciate any help forthcoming.
Just fitted new set of lead acid batteries to an elebike Giga-105. Electric bike_Products_Elebike Co., Ltd. _ e-bike kit, hub motor kit, power wheelchair, power wheelchair kit

It was running OK but with very little range (only a few yards) old batteries dropping when tested.
The replacement batteries are tested and new, when plugged in the speed controller lights, the LED flashes when the pedals rotate and the light also flashes when the front wheel turns (I presume the sensor is picking up) but no power out to the motor.
Is the control box faulty?
can these be sourced/ replaced?
I have seen some cheap ones on the auction site but the elebike Giga-105 does not have a throttle therefore how would it be wired.
Sorry for all the questions I hate going to work on the bus, especially now the good weather has finally arrived.

Why would the controller suddenly pack up at the same time as when you changed the batteries? Most likely, you didn't connect something correctly, or you accidentally disconnected something, or did you accidentally connect the battery the wrong way round first?

Try disconnecting the brake switch wire/s because if the switch is stuck on, no power will be given. Obviously. check the motor connections. Look to see if you have any spare wires that are not connected

hi thanks for the reply. the battery box was removed to replace the batteries so no incorrect connection. there are no brake sensors they cannot be on. no power at motor as above.
thanks para

Some of the early lead-acid bikes had a simple diagnostic system, a flashing LED indicating a flat battery. As you have fitted new batteries, I suspect you may have connected the three batteries in parallel (12v 21ah) instead of series (36v 7ah).

Whenever working on electrical systems, a multimeter is an essential tool when trouble-shooting. If you can borrow or buy one, you can check the voltage at the bottom of the battery casing, or wherever else it connects to the controller.
