My BBS02 500W has been running fine for 3 years and I only use it for road use so it has had an easy life. Yesterday I had a fault and wondered is it related to when I disconnected the battery before switching it off and maybe causing a power surge when I lifted the battery from its holder.

I have the C963 display and now it permanently shows level 1 assist and the display buttons do not respond. That is the power, plus and minus buttons are unresponsive. Luckily when I connect the battery the system automatically power on but stuck in assist 1. There is no error code showing. The throttle still works so I can use that for more power.

I've checked for loose connections and the battery contact. Not sure if the display module is faulty and don't know if it can be tested with a meter to confirm before splashing out for a replacement.

Has anyone had the same fault or know how to fix this?

Not heard of that one before, where do you live.

Probably an lcd issue and a replacement most likely would solve it, may be some one who is near you can connect their's up to confirm.
Try disconnecting the lcd display's connection and then replug in to see if it clears.

Do all the buttons click positively? Thinking a button may be stuck on, locking out the functions. Water inside the switches would probably cause a similar issue.

I'm located in Croydon.

Just to confirm the buttons for the display have a postive click feel and don't think these are at fault. When this problem started, I was able to get it working intermittently by switching off and on using the button switch built into the battery, the display buttons then worked. Now this trick no longer works.

Hi I have a similar problem...

my switch pad is no longer working properly (the on/off button works fine but the plus and minus buttons don’t work)... so I am stuck on the password screen without being able to ride the bicycle. Any idea on how to fix it? This issue started when the battery went down for the first time (I have just started to run the BaFang kit). I have already unplugged and plugged all the cables. When I turn the Display pressing (on/off + the plus buttons), a message “Voltage adjust Fail” appears.

Another comment. It doesn’t seem to be a bad function of the control pad: when I press plus and power together, I get the message “Voltage adjust failed”, when I press only power, it goes directly to the password screen without any message
