Is there any way to install a DWG22C onto a 406 20" rear wheel with 130mm axle (8 speed)? Or some other hub drive to a front 20" 406 wheel with a 74mm axle?
You can lace the DWG22C to a 20" rim but the motor I have does not have the correct winding, you need 280 rpm. The current version has 210rpm winding.
The best solution for a 20" rear wheel kit is the motor I got for the Rambletta (DWG07C cassette, optimised for 15mph, max 18mph) but the suppliers have put up the price so much that I am having a lot of hassle getting the next batch.

Thank you, that's very interesting. So I'd need a custom DWG22C? Is the rear axle of the Rambletta 130mm? If you do get restocked, will you be offering those motors for sale separately?

rear axle dropout on the Rambletta is 135mm.
We'll do a rear hub kit for the 20" bike at some stage, for now, the priority is settling down on 21700 cells and crank drives. Container cost is still very high.

Well, let me know if you do. I might sling the bbs01b onto a MTB.

I have another question with the whoosh kit...I am guessing the downtube battery has a void where a standard lishui controller is located? Is the cradle to controller hard wired or is there a plug connecting the controller to the cradle?

I ask because I think I may actually prefer to mount the controller separately (probably in a 3d printed box on the frame next to the chainring). This would allow me to change battery at a later date more easily. Tbh, I think I would almost rather sort out my own battery from the offset, but I don't think whoosh supply the kits minus battery?

Boggo old son. Word in your ear, the most important thing about any supplier is BACKUP. Woosh have this in abundance. Tech help, spares and advice on the other end of a UK phone with a friendly expert cannot be beat. Forget Zoggo 's ebikes up the Orinoco and stick with the guys at Woosh who actually know what they are talking about. On your controller location, not down near the chain wheel in the muck and wet, tuck it up under the saddle nice and dry. Forget the printed box unless you want fried controller. Think this way- would you put your fragile pink bits where you want to put your controller?

all our motors are optimised for 15mph. Both 48V geared hub motors, DWG22C and SWX02 give about the same performance (60NM) and efficiency. The main difference is the DWG22C has freehub fitting for cassettes while the SWX02 has thread for freewheels. The DWG22C needs 180mm or 203mm brake rotors, the SWX02 can use 160mm rotors.
Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, just thinking about my next project - does the DWG22C and SWX02 have the same motor winding/ rpm ?

Pretty much so. The Swx02 is smaller, can take 160mm brake rotor, the DWG22C cannot and needs 180 or 203mm rotors. The DWG22C is slightly heavier too. If you have freewheel instead of cassette, then SWX02 is a better choice.

Was thinking of a Boardman hyb 8.8 donor bike which is 1*10 , I don't think there is any replacement freewheel 10 speed cog sets ?
Maybe this

If it was 7 or 8 speed cassette I could just replace with a freewheel set of rear gears ?

Sunrace, DNP and a few others make 10-speed screw on freewheels. They are fairly expensive and I prefer Sunrace to DNP. Just google 10-speed freewheel. We keep Sunrace 8-speed freewheels in stock.
