Hi, not been on the forum for a while.
on 2nd of August this year I was cycling around a roundabout, 2 lanes to my left exited on to the roundabout
1 lane stopped a car in the other didn’t and drove in to me. I was wearing a bright yellow jacket. Most importantly a helmet which was badly damaged. So please take care and always wear a helmet which I have always done. I will be able to celebrate my 72nd birthday in November now. Take care everyone.

By all means wear a helmet if you wish and do take care anyway, but I've never worn one in over 70 years of cycling and have just celebrated by 88th birthday!

Cycle helmets hadn't even been invented for the first 40 years of my cycling so the choice didn't exist then, and I survived my first 23 years of motorcycling without helmets for similar reasons.

I had motor bikes before helmet law but they were available and always wore one. How many accidents have you been involved in?

i dont think they went 200mph back then tho saying that at that speed it is just a wind brake

Also if you’re in the front car seats do you bother with the seat belts?

i doubt heavy braking in london traffic going 3mph wont engage the belt lock

If that was addressed to me, no motorcycle accidents at all on the roads, never spilled off one. Fell off in competition a few times but always wearing ACU helmets then of course.

I've got a full faced helmet and recently fitted inside headphones which run on bluetooth.
So far so good.
When I've used for a while I'll put up a review.
I know I'm going to fall off again!

Yes Please.. My existing full face lids are not cycling friendly too heavy and way too warm n cozy..

Sorry to hear about your accident. Day & night very bright flashing headlights stopped drivers not not seeing me at roundabouts, and if you can't solder one or three to your ebike battery directly, there are loads of independently powered bright headlights out there on the interwebs to choose from.

I hate big multilane multiexit roundabouts, and will actively attempt to find alternative routes to avoid the really fast nasty complicated ones. Sometimes I'll take an early exit if I'm not certain I won't be run over by some driver while proceeding to the exit I do want. Tricky to see what's behind, even with two end-bar mirrors - the left mirror becomes more useful then, when I remember to look at it; habitually mostly use the right.

My existing full face lids are not cycling friendly too heavy and way too warm n cozy..

Presumably your heavy full face helmets are better/provide more protection than my "1.14kg" cheapo version, which has protected my noggin and teeth from two headlong crashes with tarmac, so far. There's no discernable damage to the protective foam within, but I really should replace it, hence my interest. If that foam isn't broken, my brain must be.

I'm 58cm which is just a medium.
Sent that back for a large.
Think I needed the size up from that tbh.
Cheek cushions and earphones needed to be a bit more relaxed.
I don't think you need a snug fit on a bike.

Don't find it heavy. Vision is fine without the goggles.

Cheers, that's about the same price I paid for mine.

"Removable washable inner lining and cheek pads"

The nice thing about my cheapo, is two thicknesses of inner lining velcro padding and cheekpads were provided, if you wanted a slightly looser or tighter fit. I don't know if thinner generic ones can be bought separately, if they can I can't find them.
