Just joined, hoping to get electrified in a nice way soon.a bit about me.
Life long cyclist, bmx, road and mtb.miles have been almost non existent for the last few years due to M.S. one aspect is fatigue,I'm looking to buy a bafang kit to get me back on 2 wheels.bests a mobility scooter right?

I suffer from brain fog as well,so struggle to take in lots of information at times.anyway,I've questions to ask in another part of the forum.thanks for having me.
Yours,William of wigan.:)

I have a Bafang 250 watt mid drive BBS01B, and I love it. Of course the mid drive systems might not be everyone's choice, but I am loving mine. It is almost completely silent unlike my partner's bafang hub motor, which makes a droning noise when under higher power levels. I can only just hear my mid drive motor on rare occasions. It is silky smooth and adequately powerful given that it isn't a motor bike.

It's not the hub making the droning noise as there is nothing inside to cause it, the noise will be via the controller. Fit/buy a decent controller and the noise will be no more.

Ah - that's interesting. Her bike is a Pendleton Somerby from about 2019. She bought it second hand, and required some minor jiggery pokery to kick the BMS back to life. Since then it has worked great - does easily 25 miles on a charge - to be honest, it has never gone anywhere near flat so I have no idea how far she could ride it.

The noise isn't a big issue. Good to know it can be got rid of though. Given that it has an led handlebar unit that might be married to the controller, I'm not sure she would be keen to try reconfiguring the whole outfit. I'm guessing we would need a lcd screen and controller at the least. If it ever breaks - we would try a wholesale change.
