hi,
first can i thank the adminastrator with helping me with signing up to the form as i was having a few technical problems .
i have recently fitted an electric kit to my trusty old edinburgh bike after a few years of deliberating over whether i could justify spending the money and also if it was worth while doing.
i have commuted for several years on a standard bike and also a scooter.
i decided on fitting the kit after one too many rides into strong headwinds and having also saved up some cash .
i bought my kit from alien bikes because they are/were close to my location.
the chap i dealt with was a thouroughly helpful guy and went through all the options and explained all the technical stuff .
he recommended the kit as i had a usable bike already and the ability to fit one.
anyway i suppose i don,t have to preach to the converted when i say it,s one of the best things i,ve ever done.
i can carry extra stuff in my panniers , ride to work into a strong headwind instead of opting out and using my scooter , take a leasure ride with my dogs without putting on all my bike gear etc.
the list of reasons for using my new creation is growing every day which i,m sure everone on here has also found.
since fitting the kiy i have done more miles than would have done on my regular bike so that has to be a good thing.
i would also like to take the opportunity to thank alien cycles and say how sorry i am that they have now ceased trading, i must have been one of their last customers and i,m glad i managed to get the kit before they finnished up
regards
stevie

Hi Stevie,

Welcome to the forum, glad you were able to join.
I hope that your converted bike will improve your cycling experience around Auld Reekie.
Although Alien have ceased trading all the constituent parts are available from other sources if required and there are plenty of members who can offer helpful advice should you need it.;)
