If you can't undo the connector, it's probably where the fault is. You have to grab each side of it and try and bend it into a banana. Then bend the other way. Keep doing that whilst pulling it a bit. Eventually, it'll give.

ok fire in the hole! managed to unplug the connector after hours of swearing and its just about got some plastic left on it , tested it with the ebike tester, the three motor wires all good. so then tested again from the controller box all good!!!!??? so now i have peddal assist working but no throttle working on the bars???? perplexed as to why but at least there is a connection being made.
all wireing seems to be ok maybee one of the 3 spare wires has something to do with it? two pin connectors 1 red two white , will maybee have to do the throttle test with e bike tester , the lights come on ok so maybee some wierd short somewhere? thanks again...

The two white wires are the speed limit. The spare red wire sounds suspicious. I remember something about the Cyclamatic wiring being a bit wierd regarding the PAS of throttle connectors.

Just remembered something: The switch on the throttle switches it off. Try that first.

Hi i just connected the motor hall signal wires and the controller hall signal wires and all i got was a lit led in the middle of the wheel, its got 5v written under it ? does that mean something has blown in the controller? as i said the pedal assist is now working but no throttle, but the lights and switch work on the throttle. could it be a simple break? not sure if i did the test correctly but they were the wiring looms that fitted on the e bike tester the snap on ones with the white square connectors.I cannot see anything else it could be , i have tried plugging in the spare red wire and white wires in various combinations to no effect .The 3 hall signal indicators did the right thing and lit up in sequence when the motor was spun. Can you get s new controller for the cyclamatic?
i have emailed sports direct and they dont have them, thankyou for your assistence its been really helpfull .

That doesn't make any sense!

You should never plug in wires unless you know what they are. Some wires carry battery voltage, so they'll kill the controller CPU or any sensor that comes in contact.

There's three wires coming from the throttle sensor. They should be together: red, black and white (probably). Use a voltmeter on 2ov scale (or nearest). While the throttle's connected and the controller switched on, check that you have 5v between red and black. Stuff your probes up the back of the connector to check them. Then check between black and the signal wire (white?). It should be about 1v and increase to 4v when you open the throttle.

Hi i have done the above test and i get a reading of 4.67 between the red and black, at 20 on my multi meter and nothing between the black and the green(which is the white i guess in your instruction) i did test the other white wire which goes of on its own journey? and got the 4.67 reading again.
so there is no signal coming from the throttle signal wire, but the leds are working and so is the on/of switch i reckon. new throttle assembly? i suppose i will have to live with it just having pedal assist, the throttle is a nasty plastic job so do not really want to go in there. or is it something blown in the controller box , could it be soldered? with thanks again for your help
