hi, i was after a quick way to get a ebike and i did no research whats so ever. My name is Dave and im from S.Wales, after a quick scan of the usual sites i found a ebike that i liked the look at and was local to me. Anyway after a quick test run i purchased a SANEAGLE CLASSIC MOUNTAIN BIKE. i dont know nothing about these bikes so if anyone has any info i would be interested, Also got it home and after 15min of playing around the streets the Battery stopped working. so now im stuck with my new ebike and it doesnt work....so does anyone know where i can purchase a battery for this bike before i loose the will to live.
right now its time to calm down and get reading the forum.
Dave

I am very sorry to hear, and suds law when you had taken the bike for a test ride it was all working fine. If the seller had the bike over two years, I think that you are doing the right thing by starting afresh. I am sure that you will get help on here even if it requires a slight modification to your current setup and if also you can afford to pay out for a new one.
Due to battery problems I have broken down many times more than ten miles away from home, believe me it can be very frustrating.
Welcome to the site.:)

I'll have a go at fixing your battery if you want, but I can't do it for about a week. No cost for fixing it, but you have to pay for postage which is about £7 each way. Send me a PM/conversation if you want me to look at it and I'll send you my address.

Before you do this it might be a good idea to measure the voltage if you can. You put your probes on the outer two pins when its switched on. Do it straight off the charger and again when it packs up..

A new battery is about £180 from China.

VERY VERY VERY nice of you d8veh. :) But you could have at least paid for the postage, Hmm... your being a bit tight fisted there, we still love you though.

That's super kind :)

Hope you get your new bike sorted, I'm new here and mostly just reading posts at the mo and I'm learning so much. Good luck :)

Hi Dave. I live in Wales and am looking for a starter bike. Did you buy this on gumtree or ebay? Makes me even more nervous about buying a 2nd hand bike. Anyone recommend a cheap new starter bike for an overweight 6'4" 17st male?

Hi. After a horrible start to ebiking im now the happiest man in south wales. I bought bike off ebay and got it for a good price. It did not work for two days until I realised I had been charging it up completely wrong. The last two days i have not been off the bike and im loving my new hobby. Off to buy a childrens trailer now. Hopefully it will pull me and the 3 year old along nicely.

So spill the beans - what were you doing wrong? Remember, you'll be helping someone else avoid the same mistake ;)

As a total newbie and complete idiot ;-) when charging the battery the green light was on which as a fool I thought it was in charge mode. It was only after about 2 days I realised red was charging mode and green meant it was fully charged. It was all to do with the way I was flicking the switch when charging. Lesson learnt buy a bike with instructions. Lol. Anyway aint been off the thing since.
