Hi powered pedallers!
My name is Mel and hubby is Chris, we live in East Yorkshire and are in our 50s and have 3 dogs: Romy (cross staffie/greyhound), Lily (patterdale terrier) and Tazzy (cross chihuahua/Jack Russell). We have been motorhoming for many a year (ideal with dogs!) and currently have a PVC camper (panel van conversion) and normally take 'normal' bikes on holiday with us. We have had various bikes over the years but found that folding ones prove most suitable for us with the camper for various reasons but mainly as they can be put inside under the rear bed to keep them safe/clean and also keep the 'length' of the vehicle shorter.
After 'teasing' ourselves with electric bikes for a few years but not feeling able to 'justify' the cost or the 'need' we resisted, however as hubby has hip and knee issues which meant we couldn't use bikes at all last year and now riding a normal bike is not so easy for him, we've finally taken the plunge and bought a couple of folding electric ones, Pro-Rider Wayfarers (pedal assist and power only options), which meet our riding/usage requirements, the space available under the bed of our PVC, and are also a bit lighter than most which is a consideration for when we put them on the bike rack.
If possible I'd like your help! The bikes will arrive on Monday so I'm now trying to sort out theft insurance for them - we need a policy that will cover them in the UK, both at home and when on holiday, and also when going abroad (mainland Europe) for up to 45 days at a time, no more than a couple of trips a year. Anyone got any ideas?
