Hallo
Im hoping for a little help.
I just bought a cheap cargo bike with a heinzmann motor, but No battery.

Ive tried to use a battery from a friends bike to pit some power on with the right voldtage by putting wires from +/- to the bike

I have opened the controller where there is a little led thats flashes so there is power on the boad, but it is not possible to turn the bike on by the buttons

I car find the battery for sale so i would like to use another brand,
Does anybody know how i can get this to work

The bike has a

heinzmann pra 180-25 motor
King-meter/heinzmann sw-lcd
And a controller i dont know the name of but looks like this:
3945439457

The power plug looks like this.
3945539456

It has CANbus comms to the battery, so you can only use a Heinzmann one. You need to talk to a Heinzmann dealer about a suitable replacement. Basically, the controller asks the battery if everything is OK before it will allow any power. It assumes that everything isn't OK if it doesn't get an answer.

Sadly with a CANbus system you are confined to the brand for any help just like Bosch and others, any generic controller, display or battery can't be used unless you decide to go route one and use all new generic electronics.

Tbh for the price of a new branded battery you could replace everything inc generic battery at a cheaper cost, a new Heinzman battery at a guess will be about £700 maybe a bit more.

If changing the controller then one needs to buy a matching display, a three wire throttle should work as should a three wire pedal sensor. Though they are relatively cheap parts so in all it won't break the bank to buy them all.

The price for the battery that vfr posted is very good for a CANbus system and a lot below that of which Bosch charge.

Depends if the new controller is a like for like genuine Heinzman CAN bus one to match the existing, otherwise as we have said handshaking needs to occur.
Pics as requetsed.
