Definitely. :)

It wasn't until cleaning the debris out from the helmet yesterday, that I also realised that it now has an inch long crease in it. I don't even want to think about that one.

The glasses have given me a black eye, but again, looking at the scratches on the both lenses, I reckon that a black eye is far more preferable to what might have been. Safety specs aren't much more than a fiver from most builders merchants, and are worth every penny.

you don't need to spend a lot on a lid for it to save your bonce.
The boy at work (23 years old) ihas started training for a Triathlon and brought a £25 lid with his new £300 bike.
Anywho part of his circuit takes him through Salcey Forest along a straight open road, it was along here this Wednesday that the only motorist on the road deliberately passed at high speed so close that his wing mirror knocked the boy off his bike.
Arm and leg road rash along with a flat spot on his lid with bits of grit imbedded in it, that could have been his head :(

Quick update!
A woman has come forward to the police saying " I think I may have hit something last Wednesday"
The police will be prosecuting for failing to report an accident within 24hrs and leaving the scene, and that's just for starters ;)

Luckily I don't need that, at 22st believe me cars steer well clear, don't want to risk me landing on them and flattening their nice shiny box.

No arguing with the benefits there, wouldn't have my nose in my fall.

I like the looks of the met helmets over the majority of others am just keeping hold of me pennies for now
I really rate my MET helmet. The camera mount screw sheared off when I fitted it, but I'm not concerned about that, as I was never intending to use it anyway, but just wanted to see how the fit was. The risk of neck damage through use of helmet mounts is too great for me to ever want to use one. I have enough trouble ducking under low branches as it is, without any extra added height.
I've read reviews saying that the rear of the helmet can rub, but I've not had this issue, and the fit is perfect.
It seems that the vents and gel pads do a good job of keeping the head cool, and there is next no wind noise when in use either. The Recon 661 was dreadful for this, and often had me looking over my shoulder, expecting to see a car nudging the back wheel.
It also seems an exceptionally light weight helmet as well, but then I think that most modern helmets are pretty good in respect of that.

Interestingly (for me) whilst in the signing in room at yesterdays mtb event, out of the 20 or so people that were there waiting at that time, not one of us had the same helmet.
