I have a bafang 250w motor.
Wired up and during the self learn the wheel judders forward a bit and then nothing

Shows a motor error. If I set off the PAS the wheel rotates at a slow speed as it should.

I'm at a bit of a loss at the minute and the only thought I have is to switch out the controller.

36v if that is any help.

Check controller connections and especially the motor coonector , is it pushed home all the way ?

Also try repeating the learning to see if it finds better syncing.

Motor connections seem fine. Also with the 4mph push assist working wouldn't that rule out the connections being lose?

Please write that again in a way I can understand it. Do you mean that when you disconnect the pedal sensor, the self learning works? If so, you have the wrong wiring sequence on your pedal sensor. Check that it goes red to red, black to black and blue to whatever. You should also check that you have the hall wires in the right sequence, as sometimes two colours are swapped.

Don't forget that each time you do the self-learning, it reverses motor direction.

Sorry I didn't mean pedal assist. I meant the push assist at 4mph. Typing while stood out in the cold. Brain not working properly.
