Has anyone tried the 48v battery with the Ezee V2 motor? im just wondering if it would help with the hills and if the motor would get too hot etc

It'll go 33% faster than it does at 36v. It'll have more torque than at 36v too, but it'll have less efficiency when climbing very steep hills so would heat up quicker. On medium hills, it'll go faster, so no problem there unless they're very long.

The standard controller is 20 amps. If you want better climbing, you can increase the current to 25 amps or more.

I asked Cyclezee about the 25 amp controller but he doesnt stock them so is it a case of soldering the shunt ?

You could try that. Ezee use the flat type shunts, which are on the back of the PCB. They're quite small, so be careful not to overdo it.
