Has anyone heard of or tried Toseven mid drive?

Thanks. Good to see these radiators for better heat dissipation. Looks more robust than its predecessor.
Let’s hope Thongsheng learned a lessons from TZDZ2 design mistakes and improved engineering this time around.
Have they informed you about displays options? Is it still VLCD5 and these legacy grip shifts XH-18, VLCD6?
Chainring is 44T?

I ordered TSDZ8 with VLCD5 and throttle. I reckon the controller is the same albeit in a different shape.
You can probably just swap out the old TSDZ2 for TSDZ8 and use the old LCD.

Tonsheng replied me that any display using UART protocol should work.
I am thinking 860C for the future, but for now I ordered stock VLCD5.

@Woosh they also told me that they can provide firmware programming cables and firmware updates but not directly to end users but to distributors. So this might be something you could ask them and then provide further to the community.
I suspect there will be firmware updates since this is new product.

The new DM-01 and DM-02 are not a derivative of the tongsheng Motors. They are a new design
There is some influence as the lead engineer was the engineer responsible for producing the tongsheng motors who's came over to form the new company

the new design is focused on build quality and reliability. They can withstand a lot more power

we have transitioned to UART controller's we intend to keep because its open to community development

we intend to release the motor programming software to the community/ end users and activity engage with them on forums like this

being a step up there is an increase in price.
We don't intend to be dragged into competing on price. We will aim to deliver a quality product with warranty/ servicing and spares availability

if anymore questions please let me know

thanks
Alex

p.s no idea why it switched to bold
What's the maximum voltage I can use on the DM motors? I'm using 56v on a Bafang BBS02 motor (rated 48v) with no problem. I'm considering the Tongsheng 52v motor but I want to possibly try the DM-01 or DM-02 instead.

This thread is supposed to be about ToSeven motors, not the tongsheng TSDZ8 which looks to be a spec (750w) that's illegal on UK roads. It's larger/heavier, most of us are looking for a discreet, better engineered version of tongsheng TSDZ2B, hence the interest in ToSeven. Please create TSDZ8 thread if not already done so. It looks pretty obvious some resellers are trying to push their products by invading other brands forums.

According to Katherine Lee, ToSeven Sales Manager:

"DM01 motor is compatible with batteries ranging from 48V to 60V. DM02 motor is compatible with batteries ranging from 24V to 60V. FYI, DM01 is available in 1000W & 750W, DM02 is available in 500W & 350W & 250W."

Tongsheng made for me a 250W version of the TSDZ8 called TSDZ02B Turbo which is road legal.

Brexit? is that still going? Did anything ever come of it in the way of benefits for ordinary folks?
Nothing useful came of either Brexit or that thread.

The closest of something useful for me was the saved time when I stopped looking at it.

I understand that a throttle can be added to the DM02 motor although it voids the warranty. I have a spare Bafang throttle, can it be used to add on to the DM02?

It doesn't void the warranty. No you cannot use the bafang throttle please do not attach it.
We have 2 throttle options. We can ship you one no problem

Someone was asking me for advice re MTB conversion.

Apologise if you have posted this elsewhere already - I did have a quick search.
Please can you tell me the main differences between the TSDZ02B Turbo and the standard TSDZ02B ?
What are the current limits ? Are they adjustable through the display ?
Are there any specific restrictions on the 250w version ?

Thanks

The case and consequently shape of the controller are different. The TSDZ2B is similar to toseven's DM02, the Turbo to to toseven 's DM01. Other than that, the voltage 48V and max current are the same 15A. On practicalities, the gap between the bottom bracket and the motor casing is wider on the turbo, making it a good choice if you have cables running under the bottom bracket. The same observation applies to the DM01 and DM02. The benefits of using motors well within their abilities is improved reliability.
