The throttle and pas still may not work if you get rid of error 03 by adjusting C2. But there is another procedure for that.

The important thing is to have no errors on the display first.

Are you saying error 03 has gone after updating your settings without changing C2?

If you have got rid of error 03 then leave C2 at 0 for the time being.

Unfortunately, I had spoken too soon - I thought so, but no. Pedal assist reverted back to 0 and that's why when I pressed throttle no error was showing. As soon as I set pedal assist to 1 the 03 error returned, on throttle :(

I've gone through all c2 values 0 - 5 and 03 error code shows up on pedal assist and throttle.

I tried another display, kt lcd4 and same error code is displayed.

We are asking you to adjust C2 because we are running out of ideas. Your motor is very old and we don’t know anything about it.

Strange about P5, but that’s not important for the time being.

Yes, cycle through the C2 values to change the hall sensor phase timings.

I tried it on my bike yesterday. My Bafang motor should be set to 0 and when I started adjusting C2 it didn’t like it.

We are assuming your motor is not a Bafang, so it may want a different value for C2, although it’s anyone’s guess what the setting should be.

If C2 doesn’t get rid of error 03 then set it back to 0 after trying every combination and then someone will have to think about what to try next.

This could mean opening up the controller to inspect the hall wiring inside.
I'm assuming it's not Bafang, but ANG is the name on the motor (wonder if they had a prior name). It's a 200w intelligent brushless motor sold by Powacycle. Triple mode operation: 1. pedal assist. 2.pedal assist + throttle. 3 independent twist throttle. Also no assist with battery off.

Wiper used to sell the exact same bike called the Wisper Works 805fe many many years ago. Would it be worth contacting them to see if they know?

Wisper are active on this forum and they may be able to supply the technical specifications for the motor if they still have records that go back that far.

They are unlikely to be able to assist with your current problem. Apart from maybe supplying an identical controller to your original. But it’s unlikely they will stock that item from so many years ago.

Morning AGS, I've input the codes you gave me, except p5 (the system wouldn't allow me to go down to 0; so I set it to 1 which is lowest it will go) - the error code has gone! Yaay :) thank you so much!

However, the throttle and motor still don't work. What should I do next? Cycle through c2 until bike works?
P5 is a damping coefficient for the battery charge display. It has no function for the motor or anything else. It stops the bar indicators going up and down every time you open the throttle. You should set it to a much higher value, say 10 or 12. Basically, the display is a moving average of the actual, the higher the P5 value, the more previous samples are used to calculate the average displayed.

It doesn’t provide the specifications for the motor in order to set P1 and P2, but that doesn’t matter for the time being. If you can’t fix the error 03 problem the motor won’t run.

If none of the C2 settings don’t clear the error then the only thing I can suggest is for you to open up the controller and inspect the internal wiring to see if one of the hall wires has become detached or there is a dry joint.

Unless anyone else can come up with a better idea.

Ok regarding p settings. I've tried all c2 setting and still nothing. I have another controller but would have to change connectors - should I try that before opening this controller?

As I said before, you need to go through all 36 connection combinations to find one of the 3 that works. KT controllers don't have self-learning like brainpower ones have, so you have to figure out the connection sequence yourself. For many motors, the default setting work, but I've had a few that had to be figured out myself. Normally, you just get either a stuck motor, groaning or rough running. I can't remember getting any error codes, but I probably never looked.

You could start by doing the 6 phase wire combinations. It might not get the motor working, but if the error code disappears on one, then you're onto something, so then you can do the hall wire combinations too.

Ok, I'll have to desolder the phase wires to switch them. How do I test with mt60 connectors?

I'm not convinced that PAS and throttle wiring are 100% correct and really find it unsual to see PAS having a white wire as signal. Have you physically traced the wiring to snure it is correct or ar ejsut assuming it is correct.

Hi Nealh, here's a pic of the pas wire traced back to magnet. Throttle wire pic attached too. Awaiting your thoughts. Thanks

I forgot you were 24v, maybe around 8. As I said, it doesn't do anything significant. remember the old days when the fuel gauge in your car went up when you went round a roundabout and up a hill, then went rught down when you went downhill. they solved that with damping to make it more realistic in showing how much fuel you actually have. That's what P5 does.

Morning everyone, I bought an ebike tester and and tested everything. The motor is fine because the 3 motor hall lights flicker/alternate on the tester when turning the wheel. However, it looks like the phase wires are the problem because when I spin the wheel to get the same response from the phase wires no lights come on at all. Picture attached.

I'm going to de-solder the phase wires. Is there a way to try the sequences on the tester or would I need to re-solder onto the mt60 connector? If, so which colours to colour?

I really appreciate everyone helping and feel like we are making progress :)

Also, my left brake sensor (to the motor) doesn't work.
