This is a brilliant bike and so far has been worth every penny of the £1500 Halfords charge.
HOWEVER - two of us owners on here have experienced the same issue - which you need to keep an eye on or better still get Halfords to fix before they hand over a new Crossfuse to you.
There are 3 hidden Allen bolts that hold the front sprocket to the motor and it seems the assembly line has forgotten to put threadlock on these bolts. It's an easy fix for Halfords to do but you don't want these bolts backing out when you are on the road as it needs a special tool to get at them. One of my bolts came out so far that it has damaged the motor housing (nothing a bit of hammerite couldn't cure, but any longer and it would have worn through)

Absolute disgrace, shoddy, unfit for purpose. Demand your money back or better still, demand the superb Crossfire-e as a replacement !

*just kidding, couldn't resist, sorry. Great heads up Mike :)

There are plenty of threads about crossfire problems It would be useful to keep this thread short and to the point so that Crossfuse owners don’t get caught out by this issue. (No harm in posting any other headsups people have on the Crossfuse

Crossfire is samsung hub drive with interminttent battery connection.

Crossfuse uses reliable Bosch Activeline Plus middrive motor.

They should have called Crossfuse something else easy to get bikes mixed up. Wonder how many sales they've lost because someone thought it was Crossfire.

The Crossfuse is a much better bike than the Crossfire.

The Crossfuse runs the Bosch Activeline Plus motor which is best in class for touring type bikes and is going to be a reliable and fun bike. The Crossfire, not so much (unless you are really lucky).

That said Halfords also owns Tredz and at the same retail price (£1600) you can get the Cube Hybrid One 400 there.

https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cube-Touring-Hybrid-One-400-2019-Electric-Hybrid-Bike_200404.htm

The Cube has more kit on it (rack. mudguards and lights) and whilst apart from the extra kit the specs are virtually identical, the Cube IMHO looks better (semi-recessed battery for a start) and is almost certainly put together better than the Crossfuse.
