slight delay in picking the crossfire up, all went well today on collection.
Good handover and seat fitting/height etc from Halfords, I opted to have the schwalbe marathon plus tyres fitted at £26 each, for puncture protection.
Had a 7 mile ride this afternoon, fairly flat roads with a few inclines and 2 big hills. My other bike is a carrera vengeance mountain bike, which I normally average 10.5 mph. On the crossfire I was averaging 15 mph on no assist which made me laugh (down to tyre drag) as switching through the motor options not much was happening. The motor really kicked in on the hills and the inclines.
No complaints at all as that is why I purchased an e bike.
Following on from a heart attack last year, keeping my heart rate down going up the hills was a must whilst still getting good exercise on the flat medium inclines.
Thanks to all on Pedelecs for your forum contributions which really helped me in getting the right bike

Now don't get me wrong.. I like halfords, use then regularly and have bought bikes from them in the past. I was in there to buy a new chain, had a look at their ebikes and not taking anything away from their value or usefulness, just going by the look of them compared to the known ebike brands it showed me just how far ebikes have evolved over the last 5 years.
