Anyone know where I can buy on in the UK? The motor is 350w and I assume thats more power than 250w but I've just had a shop tell me its less!

The bike has the Bosch Speed pedelec motor, which is nominally rated at 350w.

However, it is tuned for speed not torque, so produces marginally less torque than the CX motor.

Also the maximum assist in Bosch speak is 275%, compared to 300% for the CX motor.

The shop is technically correct, although I wonder if a rider would notice much difference between the two - other than the speed assisting to 28mph/45kmh.

The figures are on the Bosch ebike site somewhere.

I see what your saying and I'm probably wrong but 275% of a 350w motor is still more than 300% from a 250w motor. Again I'm probably wrong but power = watts not torque. Sorry so many question

It's mostly a fudge. The max power of the motor is not the same as the rated power.
Most 250 watt bikes are restricted higher power motors. If a motor is an illegal high power one the seller rates it at absolute maximum so some 500 watt motors would genuinely fail if they had 600 watts going through continually. Lots of 250 watt jobs do run happily at 700 watts.
It's all in the controller remember it V*A for power and 36*15 is much more than 250 watts.

Not to mention 42 V x 15 Amps hot off the charger...

a 250w rated bosch bike is faster with a dongle as then the speed limit is 35mph.

you wont get 35mph from a 350w motor why its more like 700w with the speed limit removed.

Them,s hot like that and set to 18ah it's super hot.

The full charge voltage for a 36 volt system is 42 volts, the max current can be adjusted to 18 a so the hot power is over 750 watts. Enough to whip the skin off several rice puddings.
The low power end is about 32 volts and the max current available will drop so power will be lower.
There are some other factors like internal resistance that confuse you more so we won't mention them.

The Newton metre figures quoted on the website indicate the motor labelled as 350w produces a bit less torque than the CX one.

It's all moot anyway, given how hard it is to make comparable torque measurements.

As regard power, 275% or 300% assist doesn't mean a lot, which is why I called it Bosch speak.

As I said, I doubt you will be able to tell the difference between the two bikes, even if you rattle along in turbo all the time which few users do.

You either want the 28mph assist one - which will be harder to find and more money - or you want the 15.5mph assist one.

Of all the figures you are rapidly bogging yourself down in, those two - 15.5 or 28 - are the only two that matter.

Cheers for the info, I've just ordered a speedbox 2 for my Hardseven and I'll see how it goes.

It will probably give you a very similar 15mph+ experience.

I've not tried a Bosch Speed pedelec, but have spoken to a couple of people who have.

Both said there's fair amount of effort needed to cruise at over 15mph, which sounds very like my dongled Classic 250w motor.

you just need to get the gearing right why i have a 18t and 15t dual sprockets.

the faster you go the less it will assist but still pull full power from the batt.

What sort of speed can you cruise at and can ypu say how much life do you get on a full charge on full power?
What sprocket, front mech etc did you use
Thanks

about 25mph but depends how fast i go but range wise 25-30 miles depending on what assist level i use.

sprockets range from 13t to 25t and 10-25 quid on ebay. i have dual sprockets but the kit is expensive at 90 euro.
