Kalkhoffs can have their cut off changed by using the dealer diagnostic device which they will lend you to update software. It’s just a matter of inputing a smaller wheel size. They all cut out at a bit over 17mph anyway and not all bikes use the 10% tolerance in the law. Most seem to cut out bang on 15.5mph. Dongles are also available for it.
It's worth noting that although the wheel size changing option does work, it does completely void your warranty.

The badassbikes dongle is probably the better option whilst in warranty!

Cyclezee,
What's the availability of this bike or lead time and also can it be de-restricted for off road use
Thanks Steve
Hi Steve,
Delivery of this model is within 2 working days of receipt of payment and they can be de-restricted for use where it is legal to do so.

No interest in deregulating my bike but I would have thought a dongle would invalidate the warranty too. If they can see that one has been fitted when they scan the software. As Bosch is able to do apparently with its motors.

That's what I wanted to know. Can Bosch actually tell if a dongle has been used?

Wow, top of the range !

When you have ridden it a few times let us know whether you think it is under-geared. I know you have belt drive and the 11 speed hub which is different to mine so you may not have the same problem.

I found any speed greater than about 18 mph I was spinning my legs off, that's why I changed the rear sprocket.

Sorry - not trying to hijack your thread !

Yes they can and many dealers across the UK can as well.
Although I don't know the conclusive answer to whether you can detect previous dongle usage with a Bosch motor, I believe that the dongle's sold by baddassbikes may be exempt from this point. There are options that you appear to have to 'wire in' which are different to the way that the Badassbikes dongle trickery works.

Others will know better as i'm still relatively new to the Pedelec world..
