Mine fell out and was lost within the first month of owning my AMT Pro. The trouble is it is held with Loctite so checking its tightness will break the seal, and then you must keep checking it regularly. I was 17 miles out so this was a real pain but Martin Brown did replace it under warranty.

No, I had not even noticed that they were hollow but I will this afternoon. When Martin replaced it it has not moved since. My US AMT Pro was in the dealership in Denver recently replacing a speed sensor that had died and they said that they found many loose bolts and tightened them but they could not recall if they used loctite so I have been anxious. I believe that bolt costs around £40 and is actually hard to find.

Done, although I used a more restrained black cable tie. Many thanks for the tip, I have read of a few of these being lost .

I am sure that is correct. This is why I believe in finding a good dealer who keeps all these obscure things in stock. e-bikeshop has managed to get me back on the road the same day no matter what damage I had inflicted on my bike. By the way, I would recommend keeping some spare Crank Bros spokes and nipples as the UK stock is just about zero. I broke my third this week but luckily I had some spares so just popped the new one in and tightened it up with the black spoke key. I come back to the UK at the weekend so let me know if any of you fellow AMT Pro riders want me to bring some back with me.

I have bought several from this eBay seller in the US, the nipples are £7.50 for four

As I seem to get though them and this is the only place I can get them I am happy to buy a full set and anyone can just pay the pro rated amount.

Mine dropped out completely within 40 km of being new. now replaced and loctited in and marked with two white dots so I can tell with a quick glance that they're still tight.

You'd think that as this seems like a regular occurrence, Haibike would jump on the case to provide a solution.

Dropping out within 40km's is not acceptable for such a high-end brand.

you would think so, but they're probably busy with the electrical faults that are showing up. (mines just about to be sent back to Germany with one).
