Grinding Noise

I have a 2012 Raleigh Velo Trail, every now and again I get a quick loud grinding noise from the front hub motor. it doesn`t seem to affect it at all but the noise is disconcerting, doe anyone have any suggestion as to what it may be ?
I have emailed raleigh but had no responce, in fact no emails to raleigh have ever been answered and past phonecalls were answered by a machine.

As your machine is still under guarantee, I suggest you take it to an authorised Raleigh dealer for inspection. Guarantee work can be carried out by any Raleigh Ebike dealer, as well as the one who supplied the machine.

 

[Atmosphere]

This is usually found to be the motor plug ( just above the motor on the front fork) not making a good connection. If you pull it apart, and check there is no damp or dirt in there, and line up the arrows and firmly push back together.

Thanks all for the info, Coming home tonight I was stoped at some traffic lights in mid power, when I set off the noise was terrible and I struggled to peddle, this is the first time it lasted for more then a couple of seconds. i will look at the plug first, it could be damp as I ride it in all weathers commuting to work and back

It probably is the plug and dampness. Unplugging and replugging usually solves the problem for the moment, but a squirt of contact cleaner helps make it last trouble free better. Here's a choice of aerosols of them from Maplin, any one will do, and you can get them by post or from your nearest Maplin store.

Plug looked dry and clean, i have some electric contact grease , I`ll put some on after I clean it again.
