I have the perfect commute for one of these things, I think. It's 1.3 miles each way -- a mile straight and flat as a table and .3 of very steep hill. I've been walking it every day for two years and pretending I did it because it was awesome for my health.

Well, it probably was, but I'm pretty sore and sick of it (we needn't discuss why I don't have a driving license). Just before Christmas, I took delivery of an off-the-shelf e-bike: a Freego Regency. Looks like all the cool kids build theirs from kits, but this will probably be plenty for my modest needs. Also, I thought it looked really keen.

I'm loving it so far. It makes me sore in all new places. The weather has been strictly horrible, but I'm experiencing it in 12 minute doses instead of 30 minutes at a time, so it's still a win. And Santa brought me one of those attractive hi-vis waterproof highway worker suits, so it's all good.

Hello for now. I do have a few questions, but I'll find an appropriate thread to stick them in.

Welcome. I'm a lady of leisure and have the luxury of only riding when it's decent weather - just thought I'd throw that one in for good measure! :p

Enjoy your new bike.
