Hello all

We've just bought a couple of Woosh electric bikes equipped with a 36Volts, 15AH Lithium battery. I have the Sirocco model and my wife has a Santana.

Is it easy or even possible to attach a dog trailer to an electric bike? If so, which one would you recommend? We like to take our dog out with us but don't feel that he could keep up. I feel that it's also dangerous to run a dog alongside a bike. He can't cycle so a trailer seems to be a possible solution.

You can often get nice dog trailers on Ebay.About £40 is a target price for a used one or £60 for new.

There's two main types of attachment. One has a clamp that attaches to the left side chain-stay, which should be OK. The other type has a little hanger that attaches to the left side axle nut. You'd have to drill it out a bit to fix your axles. You have to remove the wheel nut to fit it, which would be a problem if your motor wire exits on that side.

The problem is that they rarely mention or show which fixing it has.

One thing I'd be concerned about is, how big & heavy your dog is.

I tried my ageing Lab in a trailer & the daft beggar was fine 'til someone shouted "Oh, look at that lovely dog!" Whereupon he tried to jump out & say hello - Tipped the whole shebang over.

i have recently started using a child trailer for my dog
as jack has found keeping them in the thing is the problem
i have a medium sized dog and a cage for his size fits onto the trailer so he,s safe.
it is heavy , but my e bike pulls it ok .
not sure what size your dog is but mine mostly runs alongside or mostly infront because he,s young and fast.
this only on safe offroad routes.
the trailer is for if he needs a rest and to get him to the tracks .
don,t know how much of a drain it would be on a battery if a dog was heavier and spent more time in the trailer.
anyone else experience of this.?

My dog, like yours, enjoys the run on shorter rides, but I had hopes of accommodating her on longer ones.

I think the expression 'endured', rather than 'enjoyed' would sum up her experience As a result, the longer trip has not yet happened
Others use cycle trailers for their children (SRS, I think, for one?) - maybe they could tell you?

i know what you mean about "endured".
my dog recently had a longer run along a local track and was happier to take it easy in the trailer for a bit longer .
i think it may just be a case of building it up gradually.
your dog looks like a fast un aswell.
