Hi folks

Been enjoying looking around the forum and educating myself about electric bikes.

Had some demos but am contemplating getting a bike for longer journeys here in the Scottish Highlands, but still able to handle rougher tracks. Maybe I need two bikes? Seems like the arguments for a do-it-all car, or two separate ones!

Will no doubt need a few questions answered at some point

I like that. Seems good value, and much cheaper than two bikes!

I like the idea of comfort and the mountain bike style certainly appeals.

Was initially intrigued by the Rad Rhino 2017 offer, but the new DVLA classification seems to be the worst of both worlds - such a beefy bike but you can't use it on trails.

Hi Xmac, I bought a 2017 Giant Full E+2 about 6 weeks ago for £2300 (image attached). I haven't been active for more than 20 years and I am now making a 25 mile round trip commute everyday here in Shetland with some demanding hills on 80% of the battery (I'm using it in turbo mode all of the time at the moment). It is a full suspension competition standard mountain bike and it works for my commute as well as doing trails. I thought about a hardtail or a commuter bike for the journey to work bit but went for the mtb so I could have a bit of fun with friends who do trails. I'm happy with my choice and it does the commute well and allows fun on the trails!

Thanks. That sounds a great compromise, and exactly the balance I'm after - another one to check out.
