I just had two kits and two motors from them and I didn't pay that much shipping for the whole lot, I hears from BMSbattery that it's batteries that Fedex won't take, so is there a battery with your kit as well, in which case the toral shipping cost is reasonable?

I've had a Cute 100 motor from GreenBikeKit - shipping was very reasonable - something like $25.

Fedex wont ship lithium based batteries.

I'm thinking of buying my next kit from GBK too. Interested to see how you get on. I heard they might be a break off from BMS Battery as they have similar products but better service according to some. 120 quid does seem a bit steep without a battery I assume? With a battery that's quite a normal rate to pay as D8veh said.

yes just the kit i have two very good ping heavy duty batteries so don't need a full kit with battery they have e-mail me back today and quoted £70.00 shipping which seems good i'm happy with that ,i usually use BMS battery but i have seen from others on here they've gone 'down hill somewhat' i have heard they gave priority to their biggest customers the american market .i have a rear mounted battery setup and wondered if anybody has done a build with a rear driving kit with the battery mounted on the pannier rack not sure about all the weight on the back ?

Jeremy Harris on ES has substantial evidence that they're one and the same company. This explains why they didn't seem too bothered when I told them I was going to cancel my order and buy from GBK. The only rational explanations that I can think of are:

China maybe has a turnover limit where companies have to pay extra tax or submit more detailed returns or register for their equivant to VAT.

BMSBattery didn't have the best reputation for customer service, so they started again under a new name determined to get it right.

Any other explanations?

There's still one thing that doesn't make sence: Why are the shipping costs less from GBK? - unless they're hiding something from the shipping companies by pretending to be sa different company, i.e. they're sending batteries as "wheelchair parts" like their kits.

Very interesting. Another thing I've noticed is that although they appear to be selling exactly the same products, GBK have renamed them slightly different to give the impression they're different products or they make the products. For example, BMS Sells the Q100 and Q85 motors, GBK sells what appear to be exactly the same motors but call them GBK-100 and GBK-85.

If you check the whois registration info for both domains, they have different registrants, different addresses, but both are in the same province/state in China.

Perhaps GBK is just a reseller selling BMS products?

They'r all re-sellers. I don't believe they carry much stock. They'll buy the stuff from wholesalers and get a local workshop to build wheels and maybe test batteries.

I forgot to mention that I got a wiring diagram for the controller and rudimentary instructions with my last kit. You never got them with BMSBattery.

GBK seem to be a branch off from BMS in fact comparing e-mails i have received from both not only is the contact of the same name (Anna)the wording is very similar i think its pretty much the same as e-bay sellers setting up many accounts and switching to a different account when their feedback gets bad, so they pretty much always have good feedback one thing i found amusing is a feedback letter they have on the home page you get the feeling its been made up !

Heh welcome to the Chinese way of doing business and Chinese business ethics. Saying that, I never had any problem with BMS, the service was great and the battery I got from them came very quickly in a few days and is very high quality compared to some of the eBay stuff...it's still working great a year on.
