I was wondering which of our three British sporting world beaters on show today is the greatest.

It's said you can't compare apples and oranges, so there is no right answer.

My view is it's too close to call, all three have done - roughly - equally well in their chosen endeavour.

Andy Murray,his is a unique achievement,it is unlikely he will be easily replaced when he retires. Lewis and Chris ,whilst amazing talents,it is conceivable that they will be replaced by others.

Good job Murray and Lewis won, OG and Derf would have been blaming brexit otherwise..

And there is a pit lane rumour Nico is wanting race rerun , he,s getting a petition going as we speak, he,s really p!!ssed of with his 10 second penalty but its only advisory so shouldn't really affect him.

Departing from xenophobia and our UK star's achievements, I was also delighted by Portugal winning the Euro football final on Sunday.

Portugal has been going though such a rough time of late that it was good that they at last had something to celebrate and unite over. London's "Little Portugal" district of Stockwell saw huge celebrations on the streets after that victory, but our large French community were rather subdued with their team being unexpectedly beaten in that final.

For me, Gordon Reid was the top dog. I've never watched wheelchair tennis before now and as an ex county squash player, I doff my hat to his win at Wimbledon. Amazing to watch and a sport I will be following more in the future.
