Hi Flecc

My statement was as I pointed out to you Flecc and I hardly strung two sentences together did I, as they were on completely different lines! Hardly strung together eh? Not inconvenient Flecc just a little annoying.

So what do you suggest Flecc? No advertising? Get rid of the advertising channels altogether? Of course advertising will add to the price and it always has done but it doesn't make it a good idea not to advertise does it?

Ah but if you had not heard of the advertised branded products then you wouldn't be looking at the unbranded products of similar type in the first place :) And as for unbranded cereals? Yuk! I have tried some and they are not a patch on Kellogs and taste like cardboard! Bit like Heinz Beans.
Beans Meanz Heinz!! :D Whilst I might agree with you that advertising may push the price up, in this case it is sure worth paying!

I will still disagree here Flecc. Like you say you can save a few pence on buying unbranded, non advertised products. Well I have no choice because if I want a TV I have to have a license which is no choice whatsoever.

But only two people have commented Flecc, just two.
I said on and off the forum and off the forum I've found that many people would rather not have to pay for a license to own a TV. It wasn't blunt and was simply a statement.
Also in Danny's figures advertising TV came out top over all. lol
I think it's the TV License that makes Britain unique not the BBC.
Together with other things of course.

Whilst you are entitled to your opinion Flecc so too am I and you haven't managed to convert me :D I think we will have to agree to disagree.

Regards

As you say Mandy, we'll have to agree to disagree on the licence fee issue, but I'm not going to pass on the supposed "out of context" issue.

This is copied exactly as you posted:

Sorry Flecc but I beg to disagree :D
Well it certainly hasn't improved since 1980 has it?
I beg to differ also with other channels.

Those first two lines are clearly together, the third line indicating that by saying you disagree "also", i.e. a further thing you are disagreeing on. You might not have meant that initial conjunction and third line confirmation but that is how it reads in English.

Hi Rad

I don't quite understand your logic?
How would we have American TV? We are in Britain and already have ITV and the rest advertising, so why would we have American TV?
:D
We don't have american TV with ad breaks after the titles and then every 5 minutes because competition with the BBC maintains high standards. To be fair we also have a regulatory body that wouldn't allow so many ad breaks and Channel 4 have been reprimanded before on this issue. I do think the BBC represents reasonable value for money. For example if you bought a Daily Mail 5 days a week for a year (and many people do) it comes to a similar amount. I am sure the Daily Mail wouldn't like that comparison made.

So we are not gonna turn into a mini USA then? :D That's a relief :D
I don't buy a paper so can't comment, there are always papers at work to read for free :)
Have a good day Yawl!! :p

Oh for goodness sake Flecc they are on different lines and were not strung together as you had previously put it.
The first line states I am disagreeing on your funding issue.

So I beg to disagree with your disagreeing and agree that we agree to disagree, however I disagree to agree and agree to disagree all at the same time :D

Now if you can work out that three line conformation in English then you are a better man than me! Oops but you already are cos I am a woman:p

Now I am running for cover of the duvet kind!! :D Nighty Night

F1 2009 coverage. Excellent news

Brundle will be co-commentating with Johnathon Legard (from 5 live) Eddie Jordan and David Coulthard will be supplying punditry, and Ted Kravitz will be in the pit lane along with someone called Lee McKenzie.

So, James Allen's out (hooray!) and so is Louise thingy (shame) Murray's back in a small way as he'll be doing stuff on the beeb's website. Looks promising.

That sounds promising and thanks for the info Rad :)
Hopefully the TV coverage will be better than we have seen in recent years so I look forward to next year and I too am glad James Allen is out and have a lot of time for David Coultard so should be
I guess the proof will be in the eating or watching in this case :D
